p-Chip technology The CryoID p-Chip tagged tubes feature permanent fused memory, which provide a robust indelible code for unbroken chain of custody. The p-Chip is resistant to sterilization by autoclaving, EtO treatment, high G forces, solvents and temperature changes from -196°C to 160°C. The technology uses laser light activation to read the tube’s ID code through heavy frost and extreme cold conditions, eliminating “line of sight” issues associated with traditional bar codes, and has been designed for long term storage at ultra-low temperatures including vapour phase liquid nitrogen.
